Paper Morsels

Paper Crafts and Sweet Morsels from life.

Red, White and Snow

Just to show you how versitile the Simon Says Stamps snowflake dies can be, here’s a completely different look than my recent watercolor version.  This time, I added a little clear glue to the die cuts and dipped them into some clear microfine glitter before mounting them onto beautiful DCWV red foiled cardstock. The foil is so reflective that getting a good photo angle sure was tricky!

Birthday Girls & Happy World Cardmaking Day!

Happy World Cardmaking Day!  I have actually been making cards off and on, but I’m behind on posting them!  I will try to get a few more recent ones up soon.  I am getting ready to make some card kits today, but first I wanted to share a couple of cards I just finished this week.

There are two special young ladies in my life that have birthdays this week.  I just love this image and had a great time coloring it a little bit differently for each one.  The Doodlebug papers are just adorable and perfect for birthdays!  I used some DMC floss to make my own ‘flower’ behind the numbers – which are also a part of the Doodlebug paper pad.  The dresses have a little glimmer from my Wink of Stella pen.  Inside, they say “have a SWEET Birthday”.

In the Stars

August is a month for Anniversaries – ours was last week and my parents’ is this week!

I was inspired by some Pinterest posts of different cards with water coloring that looked like these amazing multi-colored galaxies full of stars.  I decided to try my hand at it.  I am always amazed at how great water coloring can look and how adding some little extras can give it dimension (no pun intended!).  This is the card I made for my hubby – which is similar to the one I sent to my parents.  I can tell you that the photo just couldn’t capture all the shimmer, shine and depth!

Clean and Simple Birthday

I have not made many CAS (clean and simple) cards – they seem much more difficult than the fussy ones because every little detail has to be perfect!  I decided to give this card a try after seeing Jennifer McQuire use the floral die that I have to make a set of these.  They sure are not as simple to make as they look, but the final product turned out pretty well for my second try :).

This card was for my dear Mom – no amount of time or talent would be enough to convey my birthday wishes last month!
