Paper Morsels

Paper Crafts and Sweet Morsels from life.

One in a Minion

I recently learned that my dear Mother-in-Law loves the Minions.  So, this just had to be done.  Happy Birthday to you!  I am glad we share our youthful love of whimsical things!! This minion’s name is Dave.

Here is the inside and the back.  I used a Minion language translator website for these. .  Just do a web search for minions translator.  The minion eyeballs on the site follow your mouse – really cute!

The sentiment.

The last word – on the back!

Wow…look at all these cobwebs around here!  I wish I could say it was because Halloween is coming – but really, I’ve just been posting my cards more on Instagram lately.  I tend to make more cards in the colder months – when I’m stuck inside – so card season is coming up here really quickly!! 🙂

I made this card for our niece – her 12th birthday is today!  She recently got to experience the joy of reading the Harry Potter books…so I just couldn’t resist buying this digi from Bugaboo Stamps!  I bought another of the set – and there are so many others that I just love!!

Products used:

  • Digi Stamp: – “Har Repotter The Gentle One”
  • Markers:  Copic
  • Cardstock – Club Scrap, Neenah

Birthday Girls & Happy World Cardmaking Day!

Happy World Cardmaking Day!  I have actually been making cards off and on, but I’m behind on posting them!  I will try to get a few more recent ones up soon.  I am getting ready to make some card kits today, but first I wanted to share a couple of cards I just finished this week.

There are two special young ladies in my life that have birthdays this week.  I just love this image and had a great time coloring it a little bit differently for each one.  The Doodlebug papers are just adorable and perfect for birthdays!  I used some DMC floss to make my own ‘flower’ behind the numbers – which are also a part of the Doodlebug paper pad.  The dresses have a little glimmer from my Wink of Stella pen.  Inside, they say “have a SWEET Birthday”.

Clean and Simple Birthday

I have not made many CAS (clean and simple) cards – they seem much more difficult than the fussy ones because every little detail has to be perfect!  I decided to give this card a try after seeing Jennifer McQuire use the floral die that I have to make a set of these.  They sure are not as simple to make as they look, but the final product turned out pretty well for my second try :).

This card was for my dear Mom – no amount of time or talent would be enough to convey my birthday wishes last month!

8 x 8 Pad Disappearance Challenge

Inspired by Kristie at her blog The Best Things in Life are Pink, I tried to make a paper pad “disappear” by using it all up by making cards.  The paper pad I chose, however, was not the typical 6 x 6, but rather, a slightly larger 8 x 8 pad.

The pad I used was Graphic 45’s “By the Sea” pad.  Graphic 45’s 12 x 12 papers are very challenging to use for cards due to the size of their images, but they did a good job of providing larger and much smaller prints in this pack.

Many thanks to Kristie for showing which sketches she used.  I followed her examples for many of the cards!   There were a few more cards than this, but I have been using one here or there for occasions.  The rest will go to Operation Write Home.  OWH is closing down and they stop taking cards on Aug 1, so these will go in my last box to them.

I’m featuring a Missing You card to enter into the Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge on the Operation Write Home blog today.
