Paper Morsels

Paper Crafts and Sweet Morsels from life.

Little Winter Fairy

I really admire the beautiful images at A Day for Daisies.  The talented folks that make paper crafts with these images are amazing as well!  Other than a simple bunnies design, I have been pretty afraid to try to color any of these images – because the bar is set so high!  So, this is my first try at coloring a more detailed image.  It is called “Little Winter” and it was a freebie on their blog awhile back.  I like how her wings almost look like winter scarves as well.  I do not see it in their shop, but there are so many other lovely options!  I wanted to keep the colors very muted because on a gray-skied day when it starts to snow, things are always monochromatic outside.  There is a slight sparkle in her hair with a Wink of Stella pen that is hard to see in the photo.  This is my first try at using Copic Opaque White paint as well.

Cookies n’ Milk

Yesterday was my foray into another Lawn Fawn set – this time: my new Cookies and Milk set!  YUM!  I made 7 cards, here are a few of the variations.  I have to admit, the last one is my favorite, but I just didn’t have much of that paper!  My striped paper was some older stock I had on hand from a summer DCWV stack.   I took the sentiment stamp the set came with and curved it on my acrylic block so that it mimicked the curve of the frame.

Now who wants cookies??!

Lawn Fawn Trees of Love

I just made a set of different themed tree cards from the Lawn Fawn set called “Sweater Weather” that I got for Christmas.  I was inspired by Lawn Fawn’s design team member Lynette Kaufman, who made one for each season.  Her cards are so well done! .  I just made mine all Love cards so I can send them to Operation Write Home.

Tiddly Inks Christmas Cards

I had some fun making some Christmas cards this year with a few cute Tiddly Inks images. They are so fun to color and I had a good time trying out different skin and hair color combinations.   I never get to make as many handmade cards for Christmas as I’d like to, but I got a few out this year.  I didn’t want to post them til they made it to their destinations!  I always think I’ll start early…I made these in November…maybe next year I should do “Christmas in July” card making!  I hope you all had a fantastic holiday!
